In World Space Week-2015 celebrations at IST, over 80 themed activities including 60 different space themed events were held. About 4000 student participants from 100 different schools and colleges of twin cities and the surrounding areas participated in the competitions. In addition to student participants, over 2500 visitors also visited during these 3 days of World Space Week at IST. There was a galaxy of 160 judges from media, arts, academia and research fields to adjudicate different competitions.
Institute of Space Technology launced a three day activity based program to celebrate World Space Week at its campus at Islamabad from October 07, 2015 to October 09, 2015, with a view to generate space awareness among the public and students from large number of schools and colleges of the twin cities and surrounding areas.
The theme of WSW for 2015 was "Discovery". World Space Week 2015 highlighted the great era of deep space discovery that we are in. Following the trends of previous ten years, in 2015, Institute of Space Technology organized space related competitions among the school and college students in the areas of space knowledge, space innovation, space visual arts, space graphic arts, space performing arts along with space creative writing, space creative arts, space creative designing, space gaming, space mathematica, space models, space caravan, space labs expedition, space technology awareness arena and many other awareness and learning events.
